What is assembly and inspection?
Assembly and inspection is the final manufacturing stage, where fabricated parts, hardware and bought-in components are brought together into a finished unit and checked against the customer drawing before packing. For many OEM projects it replaces a separate assembly step on the customer’s site.
XHX Metal assembles sub-assemblies and complete enclosures as part of the same order as cutting, forming, welding and finishing, using agreed work instructions and inspection points.
What we assemble
Typical work includes fitting hinges, locks, handles and gaskets, mounting rails, brackets and internal panels, installing hardware and cable management, and building sub-assemblies such as doors, frames and drawers that are tested before final fit-up.

Inspection at every stage
Inspection is not a single check at the end. Incoming material is verified against the material and thickness on the drawing, first articles are measured before a batch continues, key dimensions are checked during fabrication, and finished parts receive a final dimensional and visual inspection before packing.
Where a project requires it, we prepare a first article inspection report and record critical dimensions so that repeat orders have a documented reference.
Packing and protection
Finished assemblies are packed so that coated surfaces, glazing and installed hardware survive transport. Packaging can follow a customer specification, including individual bagging, foam separation, pallet configuration and labelling for direct line-side delivery.

Do you assemble parts from other suppliers? Assembly normally covers parts we fabricate. Mixed sourcing is reviewed case by case so that responsibility for fit and finish stays clear.
Can you supply an inspection report? Yes. Dimensional reports, first article inspection and photographic records can be agreed at the quotation stage.
