Quality Approach
XHX Metal applies ISO 9001 quality management practices across material verification, in-process inspection and final checks for custom sheet metal parts and assemblies.

Incoming Material Verification
Material type, thickness and project requirements are reviewed before production begins.

In-Process Inspection
Key dimensions, forming, welding and workmanship are checked during production against approved drawings and requirements.
Final Inspection Before Packaging
Completed parts and assemblies receive dimensional and visual checks before packaging and shipment preparation.
Drawing and Revision Control
Approved drawings, project requirements, revision confirmation and inspection requirements are reviewed as part of manufacturing planning.
ISO 9001
XHX Metal currently maintains a valid ISO 9001 quality management system certification.

Quality FAQ
- Q: How are approved drawings reviewed before production?
- Before production, our engineering team performs a comprehensive DFM (Design for Manufacturability) review on every approved drawing. This process includes verifying bend radii, minimum hole distances to bends, and material utilization, ensuring the design aligns with our 6kW fiber laser and CNC bending capabilities (±0.01mm accuracy) to prevent manufacturing failures.
- Q: Can material and finish requirements be discussed before manufacturing?
- Yes, we highly recommend finalizing material and finish specifications during the early stages. While initial discussions occur at the RFQ stage, the final details—including material grades (e.g., Stainless Steel 304 vs. 316), RAL color codes for powder coating, specific coating thicknesses, and salt spray test standards—are locked during the DFM phase to ensure consistent quality.
- Q: When are in-process checks performed?
- In-process checks are an integral part of our ISO 9001 workflow. This includes:
- 1. FAI (First Article Inspection): A 100% check of the first piece produced to verify setup accuracy.
- 2. Pilot Run: A small-batch confirmation to stabilize the process before ramping up.
- 3. In-Process Patrols: Periodic inspections during mass production based on AQL 2.5 or stricter standards to monitor dimensional stability.
- Q: What is reviewed before packaging preparation?
- Before moving to packaging, parts undergo rigorous FQC (Final Quality Control). We review:
- 100% Visual Appearance: Ensuring surfaces are free from scratches, dents, or burrs.
- Critical Dimensions: Verification using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine). or digital calipers against the 2D drawings.
- Functional Tests: Such as IP65 waterproof sealing or thread-go/no-go checks.
- Cleanliness: Removing all oil and residue before protective wrapping.
- Q: Can project-specific inspection requirements be discussed?
- Yes, we welcome project-specific requirements. We support Custom Quality Plans, the development of Custom Fixtures for unique geometries, and the provision of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation if required. Our goal is to align our manufacturing discipline with your specific industry compliance needs.
